It Feels Like Groundhog Day...

Why? Because I feel like I am poking my head out of the ground to look around.

What made me decide to come out of hibernation?

...I have a job. A real one.

That is the good news.

The not-so-good news (but not really *bad* news) is that my new job is going to keep me INSANELY busy for the next month. I have been working 12-hour days for two weeks, and I won't have any relief until after Labor Day.

Plus, there is all my volunteer stuff. That will take up any "spare" time that I have for the next three weeks. (Julia, I can't wait!!!)

I packed up all my quilting stuff to move up to our other house, but things keep happening that have kept me from actually unpacking it and getting to do something. Last weekend, we had the WORST 15-minute storm that I've ever seen. There were trees down everywhere, making getting there difficult. And once I finally got up there, we had no power. The power would be out for three days. And today, we discovered that there 6 inches of water in the basement. So now we had to turn off the power until things can dry out.

But I just bought myself my "Happy New Job and First Paycheck!!!!" present to myself.

...Hope Valley by Denise Schmidt!!!

I have been debating whether or not to join the Hope Valley fan club ever since it came out.  I know I liked it, but did I like it enough to spend the money to buy it?  When I had no income, I didn't have much of a choice.  But I could only find ONE fiesta (pink/orange) colorway bundle.  Anywhere.  So I knew that I had to make the decision soon. And then I saw this one incredibly simple quilt made entirely with Hope Valley, and my decision was made.

Now I can't find a photo of the quilt, but that's a different story.

I hope to post again before September (it seems so far away, but I know it's not), but who knows how things will go.

It's a bit like seeing my shadow and going back down into my groundhog hole.  But now I know that I won't be down there forever.
